About Nuran

Ms. Nuran Kizilkan Farina, Expert in response to humanitarian crisis over 20 years, natural disasters, conflicts, and migration, Trainer, BS in Biology, Associate Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management.
Nuran is trainer for Sphere Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Response, CHS, and for the programme addressing helpers at risk of vicarious trauma, Helping the Helpers. Nuran is available for trainings in English and Turkish.
She is now the Chairwoman of Yardım Konvoyu Association, a Türkiye based organization specialized in response to humanitarian crisis, disasters, conflicts, and migration, solidarity and development.
She is fluent in Italian, has intermediate knowledge in French (B1+), initial (A1) in Arabic.
Her Background with Sphere started in 1999 Marmara Earthquake in Türkiye, she used the first ever piloted edition (1998) in her efforts to respond the needs of the affected community by the devastating earthquake.
In 2008-2009, She coordinated the Sphere Project in Turkish, funded by Oxfam, including the adaptation and publication of the ‘Sphere Handbook, Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Response’ in Turkish, and promotion of the international minimum standards in humanitarian assistance to the relevant institutions and NGOs working in disaster response and preparedness, and and delivering trainings to the experts on the ground in cooperation with Ministry of Health and Turkish Red Crescent.
As the WASH Expert, she edited the ‘Chapter 2: Minimum Standards in Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion’ in Turkish.
She recieved ToT of Sphere recieved in Pakistan from CWS/P-A in 2008, and provided consultation for Sphere adaptation in Azeri to Oxfam Team in Azerbeijan.
She delivered Sphere trainings in English and Turkish to NGOs, SNGOs, and GOs, such as Ministry of Health.
