Child Protection and Sphere are now companion standards

John Damerell, Sphere Project Manager, and Katy Barnett, Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) Coordinator.John Damerell, Sphere Project Manager, and Katy Barnett, Child Protection Working Group Coordinator signed the companionship agreement surrounded by members of the CPWG Task Force and the Sphere Project office staff.

The companionship agreement was officially signed on 30 May 2013 (see photo). Companion standards are recognized as complementary.

In addition to mutual recognition, the companionship agreement opens new areas for partnership and cooperation, complementary branding and possibilities for joint communication and capacity building.

The Child Protection standards have been developed by the Child Protection Working Group.
