Starting with February 24, 2022, the Republic of Moldova is facing the consistent and multidimensional impact of refugee flows from Ukraine, the most significant of which are challenges in managing support activities for over 90,000 refugees from Ukraine who stay temporarily in the Republic of Moldova.
The experience and good international practices of the last more than 20 years demonstrate that humanitarian crises can be better managed if the staff in all relevant entities know the fundamental principles and operational standards in humanitarian response.
Therefore, Caritas Moldova and the International Organization for Migration in Moldova plan in 2024 to organize training for staff of relevant entities on the SPHERE handbook and the Minimum Standards in humanitarian response.
In this context, Caritas Moldova and IOM organize an event to launch the Sphere handbook in Romanian and to coordinate the training process.
The event will take place at Caritas Moldova’s head office in Chisinau on 28 March 2024 from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM.

The event is meant for representatives of CSOs, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, local authorities, the General Inspectorate for Migration, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, the National Congress of Ukrainians of Moldova.
