At the end of November, a training for humanitarian response specialists, including project managers and assistants of “Caritas of Ukraine” with a focus on protection programs, took place in the Lviv region.
As part of the training in an interactive format, the participants completed 12 educational blocks:
– Field Guide and minimum standards for humanitarian response
– Humanitarian Charter
– Principles of protection
– Basic humanitarian standard for quality and accountability
– Protection of children in the conditions of humanitarian response
– Food security and livelihoods
– Shelter and temporary housing
– Scope and countermeasures against sexual and outdoor violence
– Using the Sphere in practice
– Scope and humanitarian response in an urbanized context
– Scope and Evaluation, analysis, monitoring
– Sphere and humanitarian coordination
The training was conducted by Dina Volynets, a specialist in humanitarian standards, certified trainer of the “Sphere” project, coordinator of relations with Ukraine of the DEMAC global initiative, and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the CF Your Support. CF “Tvoya Opora” is the Focal Point Sphere in Ukraine.
Upon completion of the training, participants received paper copies of the Sphere manual in Ukrainian and electronic certificates of completion. These certificates, in addition to confirming the acquired knowledge, will also enable their owners later to undergo training for trainers of the Sphere project.
