The session was attended by 18 Corniche Hospital Administrative Staff, Physicians, Nurses and Sub-contracted Staff.
During the training, the staff familiarized themselves with the Sphere Handbook and Standards, and learned the basic requirements for responding to disasters in terms of Water Supply, Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion, Food Security & Nutrition, Shelter & Settlement and Health.
The attendees were very enthusiastic about the Sphere concept and some of them requested to join as volunteers in UAE Red Crescent and others expressed their intention to buy the latest edition of the book.
They are looking forward for future advanced trainings as they know it will help to improve their awareness regarding emergency preparedness especially since they are working in a healthcare institution.
