Free online humanitarian training resources

The platform offers dozens of cutting edge e-learning courses, live and recorded webinars on key humanitarian issues, and related training resources focused on disaster-preparedness and response.

“Although job mentoring and workshop-based learning are still the dominant approaches to training in the aid world, they alone are no longer sufficient,” notes Atish Gonsalves, Director of DisasterReady.org.

“With the sector’s increasing emphasis on standards, partnership models, and the ability to rapidly scale up operations, complementary forms of staff training that are easily accessible and affordable are more essential than ever before,” Gonsalves adds. He sees DisasterReady.org making a positive difference for humanitarian organisations “precisely at that nexus of expanded reach and improved cost effectiveness”.

Informed and supported by prominent aid agencies, DisasterReady.org is a collaborative, non-profit effort designed by experts in staff development and humanitarian assistance.

Most of the courses on offer are in English, although some of them are also available in French. Over time, they hope to broaden their non-English offerings.

To access DisasterReady.org a free-of-charge registration is required.
