Myanmar version of the Sphere Handbook now available

The translation of the Handbook was led by the Myanmar Red Cross Society with support from the American Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Myanmar’s National Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRWG).

The DRRWG was formed in 2008 during the Cyclone Nargis early recovery phase to support the government and communities in promoting disaster resilience. Currently, it comprises 53 organisations, including national and international NGOs, UN agencies and professional bodies working for disaster risk reduction.

Hard copies of the Sphere Handbook in the Myanmar language can be ordered from the Myanmar Red Cross Society.

There are currently 25 language versions of the Sphere Handbook available as freely downloadable PDF files on the Sphere website. Many of them can be ordered in hard copy from their publishers.

The English, French, Russian and Spanish versions of the Handbook also exist in eBook format.
