Putting humanitarian standards and guidelines in one place

Sphere • March 13, 2012

A simple site design, JointStandards.org was developed in response to the needs of agency staff worldwide to have easy access to information on humanitarian standards. The site uses very low bandwidth so that it can be accessed easily by those working in areas of low-connectivity.

As well as access to standards and guidelines in over 15 languages, the site also gives the opportunity to search for resources across the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), the Sphere Project and People In Aid websites.

The initiative is offered by standards’ organisations HAP, the Sphere Project and People In Aid in order to , strengthening aid workers’ ability to put these standards into practice around the world and including the certification offered by HAP and People In Aid.

As well as the website, HAP, the Sphere Project and People In Aid have collaborated in a Joint Standards Initiative .

More examples of evaluative information from the Horn of Africa can also be found on the Horn of Africa Learning and Accountability Portal.
