We announced our new membership model earlier this year, creating a flatter structure and offering significant reductions in fees. Now we need your involvement and support to make our governance more inclusive, diverse and representative: more women, more national organisations, more local perspectives and a broader range of expertise. In November, the current governing board’s three-year term will come to an end, and Sphere members will meet and elect a new board.
  • Full members now have until 10 November 2021 to nominate themselves – or another full member – for election. Up to ten full members will be voted onto the board.
  • If you are not currently a member but you would like to be eligible to join the board, please apply to become a member as soon as possible and at the latest by 31 October 2021.
As a full (organisational) member, you can stand for election, nominate others and vote. As an individual member, you can attend and speak at member meetings. Up to five individual or full members will be co-opted to the board to complement its diversity of perspectives and expertise. See here for a full list of membership benefits. In addition to these, Sphere will offer governance training to all board members. Whether you are a member or non-member, if you know someone who could bring a valuable perspective to Sphere’s board, please share this page with them. If you would like to discuss your interest in joining Sphere’s board, please contact our Executive Director at balwant.singh@spherestandards.org.
